The Customer tab in a deal is where you enter the primary buyer’s information.
Double click a deal from the Deal/Trade tab to open it’s details, then click the Customer tab.
Note that if you are selling to a dealer or business, click the Registered To radio button to Business Name, otherwise and click on Personal.
If you have entered the buyer’s information previously in the Prospects section of DeskManager, you can click on the Prospect List button to find this person on your list and have the system populate their information into the deal.
If you have purchased a drivers licence scanner, you can scan the buyer’s driver’s license by pressing Scan License.
If you have pulled a credit report on the customer or if this is a repeat customer, you can click on Search Customer/Credit Records to find them and have the system populate this information from the previous entry.
Enter the zip code and the city and state (as well as county), if available, will be filled in for you.
*Note – The Dealer/FID# is not your dealer number but the customer’s dealer number if you are selling the vehicle to a dealer.
Across the top of the page are buttons where you may store the customers Mailing Address, Previous Address and Employment Information should you need to record this for your customer.
On the right of the second line is the OFAC button. This tool allows you to perform a Homeland Security check to verify your customer is not on the list of known terrorists.
Co-Buyer/Co-Signer
The Co-Buyer tab is where you put the co-buyer information.
- Fill out the information as necessary just as you would for a customer.
- The address can be entered manually, or copied from the Customer by using Copy Buyer Address To Co-Buyer from the Options menu.
- If this person was entered as a Co-Borrower when pulling a credit report, or if they were listed as a Co-Buyer on another deal that was created in DeskManager, the button on the left side Search Co-Buyer/Credit Records will allow you to have the system copy the data into this tab for you from that previous occurrence.
- Also on the left side of this page you can let the system know who the vehicle is registered to. Registered To options are:
- Buyer and Co-Buyer
- Buyer or Co-Buyer
- Co-Buyer only
- Buyer Only
