Accessing the Specifics Tab
A vehicle's specific details can be accessed at any time in WebManager. To begin with, choose a vehicle you want to access specific information on.
Data Updates & Web Visibility
For vehicles that were uploaded from a third-party source, including DeskManager, you can check Prevent Further Data Uploads for this Vehicle to prevent subsequent uploads from overwriting any changes to the vehicle you have made in WebManager.
For vehicles in Staging inventory, you can check Display on Website under Web Visible to allow the vehicle to be displayed on your website without being activated to Live inventory yet.
For vehicles in Live inventory, you can check Don't display this vehicle on your website keep this vehicle from being displayed on your website. Data for this vehicle will still be exported to any export sites you've enabled.
The created date and last updated date will appear here as well.
Vehicle Type
Many of the fields available on this screen may change depending on the Vehicle Type you have selected such as Passenger Vehicle, Motorcycle, and Other Vehicle.
VIN
While a vehicle is still in Staging Inventory, or if your WebManager plan type supports unlimited listings, you can change the VIN if needed and click on Decode to decode it and populate vehicle details. Valid VINs which were able to be decoded successfully will be displayed with a green checkmark, while invalid VINs will be displayed with a red x.
VIN decoding is only supported for passenger vehicles in the North American market manufactured 1981 or later.
Vehicle styles refer to different versions or configurations of a particular make and model of vehicle, each offering a specific set of features, options, and equipment. The Style field allows you to select which version your vehicle is.
Specifics
The Specifics section allows you to enter a stock number, license plate number, stock date, title status, and condition.
Most export sites will reject vehicles that do not have a Stock Number.
And many others will only accept Used vehicles.
Certified Pre-Owned vehicles can be denoted by checking the Certified Pre-Owned checkbox.
The Build field determines how the year, make, model, style, and trim fields can be filled out.
Decoded will lock down the information decoded in by the VIN decoder.
Auto Build will allow you to choose from dropdown menus to select the information.
Manual will allow you to simply type in the necessary information.
The Make and Model lists used in WebManager are based on the vehicle categories available in eBay Motors.
For many uncommon and older vehicle Makes, the only Model listed will be Other or All Models.
Once a vehicle has been activated to Live Inventory, if your plan type does not support unlimited listings the VIN, Year, Make, and Model can no longer be changed, so make certain these values are accurate.
Interior & Exterior
Most vehicle types will allow you to specify an Exterior and Interior color, or Primary and Accent color for motorcycles and scooters.
If the vehicle type allows for VIN decoding, the Factory Color dropdown menu will display the available manufacturer colors.
Selecting a Factory Color will also set the Basic Color to the nearest match, and the Color Value to the exact color provided by the manufacturer.
If Other is selected, a Specify field will become visible to the right of the Factory Color field. This will be displayed as the vehicle color in your listings.
Most export sites will only accept the Basic Color value.
The Upholstery field will allow you to select the vehicle’s upholstery.
Body & Engine
The Body & Engine sections is where you can select the Body Style, Engine, Transmission, Drivetrain, Mileage, number of Doors, number of Cylinders, Fuel type, Overdrive, and Odometer Status. These fields may differ depending on the Vehicle Type. The Body Style and Mileage are required by most export sites.
Checking the "Only" Prefix checkbox will show the word "Only" before the price on your website.
City and Highway fuel efficiency values are pulled by the VIN decoder and the vehicle's style. Check the Hide MPG checkbox to hide these values from your website.
Warranty
The selected Warranty Preset affects the display of warranty information in your vehicle listings on your website and in printed Buyers Guides.
Your eBay listings can use the same preset, or you can select a different preset to have alternate information displayed for auction sales.
To add new presets or edit an existing preset, click on Edit Warranty Presets.
In auction listings and on your website, only the Warranty Type and whether a service contract is available are displayed.
When printing Buyers Guides, labor and parts coverage details, systems covered, and durations are displayed and can be edited.
Location & Salesperson
If your WebManager subscription plan supports multiple lots, you can select the vehicle lot here. This can affect what lot inventory page the vehicle is displayed on and what eBay and export site account settings it uses.
To further organize your inventory, you can also enter a location for the vehicle.
You can also specify the Salesperson for the vehicle. The selected Salesperson’s contact information will be displayed in vehicle listings for this vehicle instead of the dealership’s general contact information.
Vehicle Details Template
WebManager allows you to create multiple vehicle details templates for your website. For example, you may have separate templates for motorcycles and for passenger vehicles. You can choose the template you want to use on your specific vehicle.
Click the dropdown to select a different template for this vehicle.
Brochure
Brochures are designed to showcase the features, specifications, and highlights of the vehicles in a visually appealing and informative manner. Vehicle brochures serve as marketing materials to attract potential buyers and help them make informed decisions about the purchase of a particular car.
You can upload a brochure by clicking the Choose File button, finding the PDF file on your computer, then clicking the Upload button.
The brochure can then be embedded or linked to on your vehicle details page and linked to on your inventory list on your website.
You can Save at any point during this process, however, once you have filled in the information to your satisfaction, click Save & Close.
