In DeskManager, when you double click a vehicle form the Inventory tab, the vehicle details window will open. Click the tab that says Notes. If you are using WebManager or WebManager Lite, this tab will say Vehicle Desc.
The Note/Vehicle Description tab is a Notes page where you can type anything you need to record regarding this vehicle. Any notes related to the vehicle can be stored in here. In other words, this field is an open, plain text field. Stored information could be printed by clicking on Print button in the upper left.
If you are taking advantage of the free web site powered by WebManager Lite or you subscribe to the full WebManager, this tab will be named Vehicle Description. In here you may record the vehicle description that you want to appear on your web site in this vehicle’s listing. When using the full WebManager this information can also be exported to the various classified sites like eBay Motors, Craigslist, AutoTrader.com, and Cars.com.
An option has been added to Setup so that a default description can be created and then applied to a vehicle automatically or by clicking on the Default Description button on the Note/Vehicle Description tab of a vehicle.
To get to the Default Description in Setup, click File -> Setup, then in the list on the left click the + next to Inventory Setup to expand the category. Click Default Description, and a new window will open.
Here a default description can be written. Click the checkbox to automatically add the default description to any new vehicles that are added.
Tag Line – An option has been added at the bottom of the Vehicle Description page for a ‘Tag Line. The Tag Line is used in the WebManager program as part of the vehicle description. Generally the Tag Line is the first thing most people will see about your vehicle when it is found as the results of a search on sites like CraigsList.org or eBay Motors, so you want it to be an eye catching thing you would say about the vehicle. When creating a tag line for a vehicle, ask yourself, what would make this vehicle more desirable for a potential customer, what could be said that would make them want to look at this vehicle instead of any other vehicle on that results list.
