Consignor allows you to enter consignor information. This area can be used either to keep track of vehicle being brought into the dealership on Consignment, or to track dealerships where you may be sending vehicles out on Consignment. This area of the system does not have a designation to track incoming versus outgoing, that can easily be handled by using the Inventory Sub-Status option or one of the Custom Fields found on the Additional Information tab.
Click on the “Consignor” button to add or choose an existing consignor to assign to a vehicle.
Click on “View/Print Consignment Agreement to” view or print the agreement. The program gives you a basic shell with information about your company and about the vehicle being consigned. There is a large open area here where the dealer can paste in the legal text as necessary for a Consignment Disclaimer according to the needs of the state where the dealer is doing business. When this text is saved into the system, it will be available for consignment vehicles in the future.
After a consignor has been attached to a vehicle, a third button will appear that will allow the user to detach the consignor. This may be used if a vehicle was assigned the wrong consignor or should not have been assigned a consignor at all.
