The following section provides instructions for creating a backup in DeskManager on the Cloud.
*Note – AutoManager, Inc. does not backup any DeskManager data for any clients. It is your responsibility to back your data up.
- To perform a backup from DeskManager, click on Tools, then click on Data Backup. You will now see the Backup DeskManager Data Files window.
- DeskManager will also ask you to perform a backup every time you close the program. Clicking Yes will also bring you to this window.
- First you want to tell DeskManager where to make the backup, which you can do by clicking Browse, or by entering the Filepath in the Backup Destination field.
- We recommend creating a folder on your C drive for backup data. This way you can type into the filepath “\\tsclient\C\’foldername’ where ‘foldername’ is the name of the folder that was created. This way you do not have to browse to the folder.
- When clicking Browse to select the backup destination, navigating will be slow.
- You will first want to click the arrow to the left of “C on ‘PCname'” where ‘PCname’ is the name of your computer.
- Then click the folder that was created on the C drive, and click OK.
