Step 1: Sign in to PartsTech
Go to Settings > Integrated Vendors > PartsTech. The Setup PartsTech page opens.
You'll first see an introductory PartsTech screen with three options:
- Get started: Begin setting up your PartsTech integration.
- How to get started: View step-by-step instructions for setting up PartsTech in Fixed Ops.
- Learn more: Visit the PartsTech website for additional information about the platform and its features.
OR
After clicking Get Started, you'll be taken to the Connect screen, where you can link your PartsTech account to Fixed Ops.
Connect via PartsTech (New and Existing Users)
Both new and existing PartsTech users can connect using the Connect via PartsTech option.
- Enter your email: Use the email address you'd like to create a new PartsTech account with or sign in to an existing account.
- Shop information: For new users, your lot's information will be used to create your shop in PartsTech.
- Continue to PartsTech: Opens PartsTech in a new tab, where new users can create a password and existing users can sign in.
OR
- Review your information: Your lot's information is automatically transferred to PartsTech. You can review and update these details within PartsTech before completing your shop setup.
PartsTech shows You have successfully connected to PartsTech. Keep the tab open for Step 2.
Connect via API Credentials (Existing Users Only)
Existing PartsTech users can also connect using their API credentials.
- Sign in to PartsTech: Log in to your existing PartsTech account.
- Open My Profile: Click your user icon and select My Profile.
- Find your API credentials: Locate your API Username and API Key.
- Connect in Fixed Ops: Select Connect via API and enter your API username and key to link your account.
Once connected, your PartsTech account will be linked to your lot in Fixed Ops, allowing you to set up suppliers and begin ordering parts.
Step 2: Add your suppliers in PartsTech
You can only buy from suppliers PartsTech has approved for your shop. If your PartsTech account already has approved suppliers, skip to Step 3.
- In the PartsTech tab, click Connect PartsTech to your suppliers.
- Search for a supplier by name or ZIP code, or browse the list. Click Choose location, then select Add.
- Enter your account information for that supplier and confirm the location. Each supplier asks for different details; click View instructions for that supplier's steps.
- Click Submit to send the connection request.
- Repeat steps 2 to 5 for each supplier you buy from.
A supplier shows Approved once PartsTech verifies your account. Some suppliers need extra verification, so approval can take longer.
Step 3: Check your suppliers in DeskManager Online
- Go back to the DeskManager Online tab. The page updates on its own and shows PartsTech is connected.
- Look at Suppliers. Parts and tire suppliers are listed separately, each with its status. The list shows Ready to order once at least one supplier is Approved. Until then it shows Not ready and No approved suppliers yet.
- When PartsTech approves a supplier, click Check now to refresh the list.
- To add more suppliers later, click Open PartsTech on this screen and follow Step 2 from Add suppliers.
If PartsTech needs attention
If the screen shows PartsTech needs attention, PartsTech stopped accepting this lot's connection.
- Under Disconnect PartsTech, click Disconnect, then click Disconnect again to confirm. Parts already ordered stay on their invoices and purchase orders.
- Connect again from Step 1.
When to contact support
Contact support if PartsTech doesn't connect after you finish in the PartsTech tab, or if a supplier shows Approved in PartsTech but not after Check now.
