Disclosed Fees exists so you can show the fees your state's advertising rules require, whether a fee applies across a whole lot or to a single vehicle. From a vehicle's Pricing tab, you can exclude a lot fee from that vehicle, or add a fee that applies only to that vehicle, such as a dealer-installed accessory package. Changes you make here affect only that vehicle. They never change your lot settings or any other vehicle.
This article is only about the Disclosed Fees section of a vehicle's Pricing tab. For setting up the fees that apply across a lot, see Setting Up Disclosed Fees: Lot Fees and the Fee Disclaimer. For controlling how fees appear on your website, see Showing Disclosed Fees on Your Website.
Questions this answers
- "We put a bed liner on one truck. How do I add that cost to just that truck's price?"
- "We're not charging the prep fee on one car. How do I take it off without removing it from everything else?"
- "If I uncheck a fee on one vehicle, does that turn it off for the rest of the lot?"
Disclosed Fees are on the vehicle's Pricing tab
Open the vehicle and go to its Pricing tab. The Disclosed Fees section has two separate tables:
- Lot Fees: the fees from your lot settings that apply to this vehicle.
- Additional Fees: fees you add for this vehicle only.
Lot Fees come from your settings and can only be excluded here
The Lot Fees table lists every fee from the vehicle's lot that applies to it, based on each fee's Applies To setting and the vehicle's type. The names and amounts are set in your lot settings and cannot be edited here. To change them, select Manage Disclosed Fees settings above the table.
Every lot fee starts checked, which means it applies to this vehicle. To exclude one:
- Clear the checkbox next to the fee.
- Select Save to save the vehicle.
The fee is removed from this vehicle only. To apply it again later, check the box and save.
If a lot fee you expected is not in the table, its Applies To setting does not match this vehicle's type. Check the vehicle type on the vehicle record, or the fee's Applies To setting in Settings > Inventory > Disclosed Fees.
Additional Fees apply to this vehicle only
The Additional Fees table starts empty on every vehicle and shows No additional fees added for this vehicle. until you add one.
To add a fee:
- Select Add Fee.
- Enter the Fee Name and Amount.
- Select Save to save the vehicle.
To remove an additional fee, select the delete icon on its row, then save the vehicle. There is no checkbox in this table. If a fee is listed, it applies.
Additional fees save with the rest of the vehicle record, not one row at a time. If you close the vehicle without saving, fees you added or deleted are not kept.
Lot fees always appear above additional fees on your website
When your fees are shown on your website, this vehicle shows its checked lot fees first, in the order set in your lot settings, followed by its additional fees in the order they were added. You cannot place an additional fee among the lot fees. To change the order of lot fees, reorder them in Settings > Inventory > Disclosed Fees.
The same set of fees, the checked lot fees plus every additional fee, is what gets added into the purchase price when Include Disclosed Fees in Purchase Price is turned on. See Showing Disclosed Fees on Your Website.
The same set of fees is also included automatically in this vehicle's inventory exports to sites that support disclosed fees, even if your fees are not shown on your website. To find out whether a specific export site receives your fees, email support@automanager.com.
