Facebook Marketplace has discontinued automated vehicle and real estate catalog feeds. As a result, WebManager and other marketing platforms can no longer offer automatic Facebook Marketplace integration.
To continue to provide users with a Facebook Marketplace posting solution, we’ve created the Facebook Marketplace Auto-Posting Utility (FB Marketplace APU). This tool allows you to send your inventory to the Facebook Marketplace with the push of a button.
We support the Facebook Marketplace Auto-Posting Utility on Windows and two web browsers: Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. The FB Marketplace APU does not work on Mac devices.
Want To Try Facebook Marketplace Auto-Posting Tool For Your Dealership?
To get started, please complete the short configuration process outlined below.
Installing the Facebook Marketplace Auto-Posting Utility
You must install the Facebook Marketplace Auto-Posting Utility on Google Chrome. If you are using Microsoft Edge, skip to the configuration section below.
First, open your Inventory menu, then click Inventory List.
Change your View to Live Inventory: Facebook Marketplace.
Click Install ClickOnce Launcher.
This will take you to the Chrome extension store. Add the Meta4 ClickOnce Launcher extension.
Once you add the extension, select the download (m4clickoncehelper.exe) that appears.
A window should appear that indicates the installation was successful.
Configuring the Facebook Marketplace Posting Utility
To run the Facebook Marketplace Auto-Posting Utility, open your Inventory menu, then click Inventory List.
Change your View to Live Inventory: Facebook Marketplace.
Next, click Launch Auto-Posting Utility.
A blue window may appear, indicating that Windows protected your PC. Click More Info, then click Run Anyway.
You should now see the main screen of the Facebook Marketplace Auto-Posting Utility. In the top-left, click Options, then select Logins.
In the Logins section, select your Main Lot (which is indicated by Lot 00) and enter the Facebook account credentials for that lot.
The Facebook Marketplace Auto-Posting Utility will use the Lot 00 credentials for your other lots if you do not specify their credentials. If you need to post different lots to separate Facebook accounts, provide the appropriate credentials under each lot.
Once done, click OK. This will take a moment as the Facebook Marketplace Auto-Posting Utility verifies your Facebook credentials.
Next, navigate to Options and click Settings.
In the General tab, the export settings from your previous Facebook integration will appear. You will not need to change them. However, if necessary, you can customize your pricing, photo overlay, and description export settings.
In the Listing Price section, you can choose which price to advertise on your Facebook Marketplace listings: either the Showroom, Internet, or Special Price.
In the Vehicle Photos section, you can choose to display a photo overlay on the first photo, an overlay on every photo, or no photo overlays at all.
In the Description section, you can choose to prepend, append, or replace the description on your inventory.
- Don’t Use Global Description: The global description will not modify the existing descriptions on your vehicles.
- Add to Vehicle's Description: Add the contents of this section's description box to the end of your vehicle descriptions.
- Prepend to Vehicle's Description: Add the contents of this section's description box to the beginning of your vehicle descriptions.
- Replace Vehicle's Description: Replace vehicle descriptions with the contents of this section's description box.
Next, click on the Timing and Errors tab. By default, the Post Timing section is set to No Delay. Once a vehicle is posted, the FB Marketplace APU will immediately begin posting the next vehicle. You may want to add a delay between posts if you encounter an issue posting vehicles in immediate succession.
In the Error Handling section, Let me try to correct posting errors is enabled by default. If an error occurs in the posting process, then a Facebook Marketplace window will appear and you will be able to fix the error manually.
If you do not enable error handling, the Facebook Marketplace Auto-Posting Utility will skip the vehicle and report the unsuccessful post on the post status window.
It is a good idea to enable error handling if you’ll be monitoring the tool as it posts vehicles to Facebook. Do not enable error handling if you want a completely automatic experience, as the tool will be waiting for your input if an error occurs.
Once you’ve finished customizing these settings, click OK.
