Missing Custom Reports, Charts, and Reports That Open the Older Screen

The Reports page builds its list from two places — the built-in report templates and the reports your dealership has created — and a few reports deliberately open on the older report screen instead of the new one. This article explains the three ways that makes the page look wrong: custom reports missing from the list, a chart that isn't in the list at all, and a link that opens a different-looking screen than you expected.

Only the built-in reports are showing

Your own saved reports are loaded separately from the built-in templates. If that second load fails or times out, the page still finishes drawing with the built-in reports alone, and no error message is shown — which looks exactly like every custom report having been deleted.

Nothing has been deleted. Refresh the page, and if the list is still short, try again in a few minutes. If your custom reports are still missing after that, contact support rather than rebuilding them — the reports are still there to be recovered.

A chart you built isn't in the reports list

Charts are deliberately left out of the Reports list. They have their own page, reached with the Charts button on the Reports page. Everything you would expect to do with a chart — open it, edit it, favourite it, delete it — happens there.

This is why a chart can feel like it disappeared the moment you saved it: saving it as a chart moved it out of the list you were looking at and onto the Charts page.

An old link opens a chart instead of the report

A report and a chart can be the same saved definition — the same thing, shown either as a grid of records or as a chart. If that definition is switched to chart output, an older bookmark pointing at the grid will land on the chart page instead, because the link is taken to the page that matches what the definition is now.

The report was not deleted and its definition was not lost. If you want the grid back, change the saved definition back to grid output; the reverse happens too, so a chart bookmark opens the grid page once the definition is switched to a grid.

Some reports open the older report screen

A few kinds of report have not moved to the new screen yet and are deliberately routed to the older one, even though they sit in the same list:

• State regulatory filings — the documents you submit to a state agency, which are produced by the older printing process.
• Reports with extra processing behind them — book value refreshes against a valuation provider, California sales tax, aging buckets, and reports that include a clickable web address as a column.

This is expected, and it is decided by the kind of report rather than by who opens it — so two similarly named reports genuinely can open two different screens. Everyone at your dealership sees the same behaviour for the same report.
