These instructions only cover configuring the printers AutoManager supports. If you are using another make or model printer, these instructions are likely not applicable.
First insert a blank sheet of paper into your printer.
Enable the printer’s Menu Mode by pressing and holding the SHIFT and SEL buttons at the same time. If the Menu light does not come on, turn the printer off and back on and repeat this step.
Press the GROUP button once. Depending on your printer model you will see either Printer Control – Emulation Mode or General Control – Emulation Mode.
If the Emulation Mode is already set to IBM PPR skip to the next step. Otherwise press SET until the printer prints Printer Control – Emulation Mode – IBM PPR or General Control – Emulation Mode – IBM PPR.
Next press the GROUP button until the printer prints Top Feed – Line Spacing – [value].
From here press the ITEM button. The printer should print Top Feed – Bottom Margin – [value].
If the value for Bottom Margin is Invalid, skip to the next step. Otherwise, press SET, and the printer should then print Top Feed – Bottom Margin – Invalid.
Next press the ITEM button until the printer prints Top Feed – Page Length Control – [value]. Note, you will pass by Top Feed – Page Length on the way.
If the value for Page Length Control is by Actual Page Length, skip to the next step. Otherwise, press SET, and the printer should then print Top Feed – Page Length Control – by Actual Page Length.
Now press the GROUP button until the printer prints Set-Up – Graphics – [value].
Next press the ITEM button until the printer prints Set-Up – Paper Out Override – [value].
If the value for Paper Out Override is Yes, skip to the next step. Otherwise, press SET, and the printer should then print Set-up – Paper Out Override – Yes.
Now press ITEM until the printer prints Set-Up – Auto Select – [value].
Be aware that the printer will print a series of vertical lines the first time after Set-up – Paper Out Override. Don’t be alarmed, it is supposed to do this.
If the value for Auto Select is Yes, skip to the next step. Otherwise, press SET, and the printer should then print Set-Up – Auto Select – Yes.
You have now successfully configured the internal settings for your Okidata printer. Press and hold the SHIFT and SEL buttons at the same time to turn off the Menu Mode.
