As part of the initial Okidata setup process, you must configure the correct Okidata driver. This driver is sometimes reset after a substantial Windows update, so it’s worth knowing how to change and configure your Okidata driver.
Configuring the Okidata Driver for DeskManager Online
First, open the control panel. To do so, type Control Panel in the Start Menu. Then click on Control Panel from the search list.
If your computer does not have a search bar here, press Windows key + R on your keyboard, then type “control” (without quotes) and press Enter, or click OK.
In the Control Panel, click Devices and Printers.
Right-click your Okidata, then click Printer Properties.
Click on the Advanced tab.
In the driver drop-down menu, select the Okidata ML 320 driver. Then click Apply in the bottom-right. Your Okidata driver is now correctly configured.
If this driver is not on the list, click New Driver.
In the Manufacturer column, look for Okidata. If Okidata is in this column, select Okidata and find the Okidata ML 320 driver. Then click Apply in the bottom-right.
If Okidata is not in your Manufacturer column, go to the AutoManager download page: https://www.automanager.com/support/download-updates.aspx
Provide your CID and main dealership phone number. Then click Submit.
Once logged in, locate and download the Okidata_drivers.zip file.
Navigate to the location you saved this file. By default, this is the Downloads folder. You can also select your download and click Show in Folder.
Right-click the file and select Extract All. Select a destination for the extracted folder, then click Extract.
Return to the Advanced tab and select New Driver.
Click Have Disk, Browse, then navigate to the location of the extracted Okidata driver.
Open the 64-bit folder and double-click the prnod001.inf file. Then click OK.
Scroll through the list of drivers and select Okidata ML 320. Then click Next.
Click Finish to install the driver, and then click Apply in the bottom-right.
Your Okidata driver is now correctly configured.
If this is a first-time Okidata setup, make sure you have also configured the mechanical settings (link) and internal settings (link) to complete the Okidata setup process.
Prior to printing to your Okidata in DeskManager Online you will also need to configure the internal settings, add an entry to your print server properties, and configure your printer's mechanical settings:
