Changing Stock Numbers

DeskManager Online assigns stock numbers to your inventory and trade-ins according to your lot’s stock number sequencing. If you haven’t set up your dealership’s stock number sequence, follow our article here: Stock Number Sequencing

Even if your stock number sequencing is set up correctly, you may sometimes want to change a vehicle’s stock number. To do so, follow the directions below.

How to Change a Stock Number

First, navigate to the details page of the vehicle with an erroneous stock number.

The Stock Number field is at the top. If the stock number field is white, click on the box and change the stock number.

Once done, click Save.

If the stock number field is gray, manual edits are not enabled on this DeskManager Online lot.

To change this, first click the Settings cogwheel located at the bottom of the leftmost sidebar. From the Settings pop-up menu, click Inventory and select Stock Number.

Click the dropdown for the vehicle’s associated lot and check the box for Manual Edit.

Then click Save & Close.

Return to the vehicle’s details page. You should now be able to change the stock number by editing the stock number field.
