An account may require an adjustment or side note for a variety of reasons. Although you can keep notes on an adjustment to indicate its purpose, you can also create custom adjustment categories to better understand an adjustment at a glance.
While it may seem superficial for some dealers, it's an indispensable tool for dealerships that apply adjustments on a regular basis.
Creating an Adjustment Category
First, click the Settings cogwheel located at the bottom of the leftmost sidebar. Under the Accounting category, select Adjustment Categories.
To add an Adjustment Category, click Add New.
Give this category a Name.
Then click Save & Close in the top-left.
Assigning an Adjustment Category
Navigate to an account in need of an adjustment.
Click Adjustment/Side Note along the top banner.
Indicate the adjustment’s Amount, Due Date, Terms, and Type.
In the Category field, select your custom adjustment category.
Once done, click Submit.
When you view the account’s Adjustment or Side Note History, the custom category will appear.
