Part Adjustments (Parts)
What this does
Part Adjustments shows the history of inventory adjustments made to parts. Adjustments can be created automatically (for example, when parts are sold on an invoice) or manually (for example, when you correct inventory counts). This list helps you audit what changed, when it changed, and why.
Where to find it
Go to Parts → Part Adjustments.
Page layout overview
At the top of the page you’ll see:
A Search box
A Location selector (example: All Lots or Current Lots)
The main area is a grid of adjustment records with sortable columns and filters.
At the bottom you’ll see:
Before, Adjusted and After counts
Filters count
Rows per page
Pagination controls
Column definitions (what each field means)
Your Part Adjustments list includes these columns:
Adjustment Date: date and time the adjustment was recorded
Part #: the part identifier that was adjusted
Before: on-hand quantity before the adjustment
Adjusted: the change amount (positive or negative)
Negative values reduce on-hand
Positive values increase on-hand
After: on-hand quantity after the adjustment
Reason: why the adjustment occurred (example shown: “Sold on Invoice# 10020”)
Transaction Type: how the adjustment was created (examples shown: Manual Entry, Inventory Adjustment)
Created By: the user who created the record
How to find an adjustment
Option 1 — Search
Click the Search bar.
Enter a keyword such as:
Part number
Reason text (if known)
Review the filtered results in the grid.
Option 2 — Filter by column
Many columns include filter controls under the header, such as:
Adjustment Date: Min / Max
Part #: “Filter by Part #”
Before / Adjusted / After: Min / Max ranges
Reason: “Filter by Reason”
Transaction Type: dropdown (example: All Transaction Types)
Use multiple filters together to narrow results.
How to read an adjustment record
Each row tells the full story of a single inventory change:
Identify the Part #
Confirm the inventory changed from Before → After
Verify the magnitude in Adjusted
Check the Reason (ex: sold on a specific invoice, or a custom adjustment reason)
Confirm whether it was a Manual Entry or system-driven adjustment in Transaction Type
Confirm who did it in Created By
Common use cases
Audit inventory changes after a sale
If parts are sold on a part invoice, you may see adjustments with a reason like:
- “Sold on Invoice# [Invoice #]”
These typically show a negative Adjusted amount.
Investigate unexpected inventory counts
If a part quantity seems wrong, use:
- Part # filter + date range
to see every adjustment affecting that part.
Confirm manual corrections
For cycle counts or corrections, look for:
- Transaction Type = Manual Entry
and review the Reason for details.
Common issues & quick fixes
I don’t see expected adjustments
Confirm you’re in the correct Location.
Expand the Adjustment Date Min/Max range.
Remove filters (Filters count should go back to 0).
The “Reason” doesn’t match what I expected
Some reasons are system-generated (example: linked to an invoice).
Manual adjustments typically rely on what the user typed as the reason.
A part shows repeated adjustments
- That’s normal if it’s frequently sold, received, or manually corrected. Filter by date range to focus the investigation.
