Some dealerships work with hundreds or thousands of vendors, creating a massive vendor list in the process. At this size, locating a specific type of vendor can be nearly impossible.
To better organize your vendor list, you can create custom vendor types in DeskManager Online. Custom vendor types organize your vendors into subcategories, simplifying your search.
Do you need to locate a paint and body specialist or a towing service? By creating custom vendor types for these categories, you can filter your vendor list to display a specific type of provider.
Creating Custom Vendor Types
First, click the Settings cogwheel located at the bottom of the leftmost sidebar. Under the Contacts category, select Custom Vendor Types.
To add a new custom vendor type, click Add New.
Name this new vendor type.
Then click Save & Close.
Assigning Custom Vendor Types
First, click the Settings cogwheel located at the bottom of the leftmost sidebar. Under the Contacts category, select Vendors.
To assign a custom vendor type to a vendor, click on the vendor.
Then in the top-right, click the Type dropdown menu and select your custom vendor type.
Then click Save.
You can also assign a subcategory while adding a new vendor.
Once you’ve assigned subcategories to your vendors, you can filter by them to better organize your vendor list.
To filter by subcategory, click Filter. Select your subcategory. Then click Apply.
