The website background is an essential element to any website. Humans are visual creatures and when they visit your website, one of the first things they notice is the background.
You should bear in mind that all it takes for them to evaluate your website and determine if it's worth their time is 50 milliseconds. With a very limited window to capture your audience, you need to have stunning backgrounds to captivate users and empower them to stay and explore your website.
How to Find Website Background Settings
First click the Settings cogwheel located at the bottom of the leftmost sidebar. Under the Website category, select Background.
Content Background
The Content Background is the background color for containers of text.
If you choose Use Default, the corresponding color for the chosen theme will be used.
Choosing Solid Color will let you select the color and opacity of the content background. Higher opacity is more opaque and less transparent, while lower opacity is more transparent.
To commit your changes be sure to save them at the top of the window.
Website Background
The Website Background section will allow you to select from the following options: Use Default, Solid Color, Pattern, Slide Show, Library, or Custom Image.
Use Default
Each website theme and color scheme has pre-defined settings for the background. To use the defaults select Use Default.
Solid Color
If you prefer a solid color for your background, use the color dialog and pick your choice.
If you choose to use a Custom Image, this color will also be used if your custom image isn’t large enough to cover the whole window.
Pattern
You can also use patterns to display as your background. However, some patterns may fail to display on old and outdated browsers that do not have modern CSS support.
Library
WebManager provides a library of images that are available to use as a background.
Click the dropdown menu next to Library Image to select the image.
Click View Full Size to see the entire background image enlarged.
Custom Image
You can use your own custom image to use for your background. Simply click Choose File to select the image and hit Upload once you've decided.
If your image isn’t large enough to cover the whole window, your chosen Solid Color will be displayed in the areas that aren’t covered.
To commit your changes be sure to save them at the top of the window.
