Overview
VITU is an Electronic Vehicle Registration (EVR) service provider that allows dealerships to electronically process vehicle registration transactions within their state. While VITU supports multiple states, the current integration described in this article is available only for California dealerships.
Unlike integrations with providers such as Fairfax Imaging, most of the Report of Sale (ROS) workflow will occur directly inside the VITU portal. DMO prepares the deal information and transfers the deal and you to the VITU portal to complete the required steps.
If you are already logged into VITU, the form will open automatically so you can continue the process.
Before You Begin
Before submitting deals to VITU, your dealership must configure the VITU integration in DMO. You will need your VITU Dealer Code, provided by VITU. The Dealer Code is a 5 or 6-digit numerical ID. There wont be any letters or special characters.
Configure VITU in DMO
Follow these steps to enable the VITU integration.
Navigate to Settings.
Select Integrated Vendors.
Click Electronic Vehicle Registration.
Select VITU.
On the Setup VITU page:
Enter your VITU Dealer Code.
Confirm the code contains numbers only.

Submit a Deal to VITU

Buyer information
Confirm the Vehicle Body Style
DMO attempts to automatically match the vehicle’s body style to the appropriate DMV body style classification.
These values correspond to the official Body Type Model (BTM) and Body Type Code (BTC) lists maintained by the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
Because these codes are standardized, some vehicle body styles may not map perfectly. If needed, select the correct body style manually from the provided list.
Once the correct body style is selected:
Click Export Deal.
Complete the Report of Sale in VITU
After exporting the deal:
DMO opens a new browser tab with a preconfigured VITU link.
If you are not already logged in, you will be prompted to sign in to the VITU portal.
If you are already logged in, VITU will display a dialog prompting you to continue the submission.
Inside the VITU portal:
Review the transferred deal information.
Complete any remaining required fields.
Click "Generate RS" (Report of Sale).
Print the Report of Sale directly from the VITU portal.
