AutoAp offers recall notices on a per-vehicle basis, similar to NMVTIS, with each report costing $1.
To use AutoAp, simply open an Available, Watchlist, or Trade-In vehicle. Click Check For Recalls to view a dialog explaining AutoAp, including an example report and a link to the AutoAp website.
When you click Run Recall Report, the system processes the request.
If there are multiple trims associated with the VIN, the report may not show instantly but will continue to run in the background, and you’ll be notified when the report is ready.
While the report is running, the Check For Recall button displays a spinner and the text "Checking For Recalls".
Once results are returned, the button changes to green with the text View Recall Report. Clicking on this button brings up a dialog indicating whether a recall was found.
If no recall is found, a message will be displayed.
If a recall is found, you’ll see a link next to the Recall found? column, allowing you to view the report.
In situations where the process takes longer than expected, a green notification banner will appear at the top of any page you’re on, providing a link to the vehicle and its VIN. This banner remains until manually closed or until you use the link to open the slide-out.
When an open recall is found, the system will display the recall details along with options to Go to Vehicle, Print the results, or Email the results.
Selecting Go to Vehicle takes you directly to the vehicle’s details, where you can view the recall report.
Print generates a PDF of the recall report, which downloads to your local machine.
Email attaches the generated PDF to an email, which can be sent from within DMO, provided an outgoing email service is configured.
In addition to individual recall checks, two reports are available to handle large quantities of vehicles.
The Recall Report for Available Inventory allows users to see all available vehicles and their recall report status, with blank columns initially for vehicles not yet processed.
Clicking on the vehicle link opens its details in another tab, enabling you to process vehicles while keeping the report open.
The Recall History Report shows vehicles for which reports have already been run, detailing who processed the report, when it was run, and if any open recalls were found.
